Sacramento Chesterton Society Meeting

February 9, 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Greetings, Fellow Chestertonians!
Our meeting last Tuesday was very well attended. The discussion was lively and stimulating. Lots (and lots!) of refreshments and libations. A good time, as they say, was had by all. We really seem to be picking up steam with our discussions – we went until shortly after 9 pm and really only talked about two of the assigned readings, and not very thoroughly at that. As you can imagine, the events of the previous month were weighing on everyone’s minds and figured into the discussion. The assigned readings providentially fell right in with everyone’s thoughts. Hopefully this next month won’t be quite as exciting.
Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, February 9th at St. Stephen’s following the 6 pm Mass, roughly between 7 pm and 7:30 pm until 9 pm (very roughly). Ash Wednesday isn’t until February 17, so one last fling before we have to drink our beer or wine out of paper cups.
Our readings are:
From The Defendant:

From In Defense of Sanity:
“Christianity has not been tried and found wanting; it has been found difficult and left untried.
     – G. K. Chesterton
 What’s Wrong with the World
