Fasting continues (until Nov 6) – PRAYERS & FASTING The California bishops are requesting prayers and fasting leading up to the elections this year. Specifically, they are asking for the faithful to join in a novena to Our Lady of the Rosary from Sept 29 to Oct 7, and for the faithful to engage in some fasting from Sept 28 to Nov 6. Our pastor would encourage fasting on Fridays during this period, at the least, in order to fulfill this praiseworthy request from the bishops of our state. Those that want to do more could fast on Wednesdays and Fridays, or even take on something similar to the Lenten fast.
